Boost Your Juice Plus The Top Secret Cheapest Juice Bar in Long Beach

We were driving home from LA late a couple weekends ago, starving, and wanted something quick but good to eat. What does a taco place have in common with juicing? They are both super cheap! And that is how we just found our new favorite juice destination in Long Beach, El Taco Loco #3. Where else can you get 5 tacos and a large fresh juice for $10? Yes, it’s kinda in the hood. No, it’s not fancy. You will probably get stared at if you aren’t from the neighborhood. I don’t recommend going alone because your friends will definitely want to know about this place too. Juice and tacos are a strange combination I know but seriously this place is AMAZEBALLS – the best tacos in Long Beach and quite possibly in LA in my opinion and the fresh juices are so good. Yes, they have all the legit juicing devices. And, it’s as good as the totally trendy yet overpriced place next to Trader Joe’s. Check it out. You will not be disappointed. Here is a photo of their juice menu. My favorite, The Vampiro, has beet, celery, carrot, orange, pineapple, and apple.

Best Juice Bar In Long Beach

Boost Your Juice

For when you can’t make it to the juice bar and want to make your own juices at home. Here are some of the best ingredients to add.

#1: Spinach
Nutrient rich, protects against inflammatory problems, cardiovascular problems, bone problems, and cancers. No wonder Popeye got super strong from eating it.

#2: Flaxseed
Adds fiber, protein, and omega-3 fat {good fat with heart healthy benefits}. Tastes great with banana, pineapple, or kale.

#3: Avocado
Adds a creamy texture and healthy unsaturated fat. Avocados have tons of anti-inflammatory nutrients including antioxidants, vitamins C and E. Plus, they are rich in the antioxidant lutein which keeps eyes healthy. Who knew?

#4 Fresh Ginger
Ginger is amazing. It helps balance out gastrointestinal distress, helps with nausea and vomiting, has very potent anti-inflamatory compounds, and it boosts your immune system. Plus, it is adds a great spicy balance to fruit.

#5: Green Tea
Contains powerful antioxidants, increases metabolism, helps regulate glucose levels, helps regulate blood pressure, reduces bad cholesterol in the blood, improves memory function, and helps with wrinkles and signs of aging.

#6: Almond Butter
Not just for sandwiches, almond butter adds protein and healthy fat.

#7 Watermelon
It’s fun to eat and a source of excellent vitamins helps strengthen immunity, heal wounds, prevent cell damage, promote healthy teeth and gums. I especially like it because it neutralizes leafy green veggies and takes away yhe bitterness of kale and spinach.

#8 Coconut Water
Low in calories, naturally fat- and cholesterol free, more potassium than four bananas, super hydrating, and an excellent hangover cure. Need I say more?

#9 Almond Milk
It’s high in a number of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, manganese, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, iron, fiber, zinc and calcium. It’s low in calories and low in fat. Plus it’s lactose, gluten, casein and cholesterol free.

#10 Meet Kale, your new friend with benefits.
Kale is low calorie, high fiber and has zero fat. It’s high in iron – more than in beef. Kale is high in Vitamin K which can help protect against various cancers. It’s filled with antioxidants such as carotenoids and flavonoids which help protect against various cancers. It’s filled with omega -3 fatty acids, a great anti-inflammatory. Kale is high in Vitamin A- great for your vision and your skin. Kale is high in Vitamin C, very helpful for your immune system, your metabolism and your hydration. Kale is high in calcium – more calcium than milk, which aids in preventing bone loss, prevents osteoporosis and maintains a healthy metabolism. Vitamin C is also helpful to maintain cartilage and joint flexibility. It is a great detox food, filled with fiber and sulfur, both great for detoxifying your body and keeping your liver healthy.

#11 Beets are one of nature’s Viagra.
Seriously. Romans used them as an aphrodisiac. Beets contain high amounts of boron, which is directly associated to human sex hormones. Beets have a ton of other health benefits too – they are high in Potassium, magnesium, fiber, phosphorus, iron; vitamins A, B & C; beta-carotene, beta-cyanine; folic acid. Beets cleanse the body and act as a tonic for the liver. Beets are used as a stomach acid tester. If you are eating a lot of beets or beet juice, and your pee turns pink you have low stomach acid. Beets are a high source of energy and a wonderful addition to any diet.

#14 Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit. They are very rich in antioxidants to boost up your immune system and prevent infections. A strong immunity prevents colds, fever, and viral and bacterial communicable diseases.

These are just some of my favorites and I definitely don’t get enough. What are your favorite juice add-in’s?
