Caramel Cream Berries {Gluten Free and Paleo Dessert Recipe}

This has to be the most delicious, easy, and super fast dessert recipe ever. It’s always a crowd pleaser because of the secret sauce. It’s perfect for pot lucks, showers, and parties. The first time I had it was on vacation with my family in Finland and it was made by their amazing housekeeper. I seriously wanted to drink the sauce and then begged her for the recipe. I couldn’t believe how simple it was. I made it recently at a friend’s house but got home and decided to try to make a paleo version of the sauce with my new favorite sweetener, Coconut Nectar, and it was seriously just as good if not better without being too sweet.

Ingredients:
1. Mixed fresh berries. I usually like strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries but you could do any combination.

2. For gluten free – 1 cup fresh whipping cream and 1 cup sugar, For paleo – 1 cup coconut milk and 1 cup coconut nectar.

Optional – You can add fresh mint to the mixed berries.

To make the sauce, combine the sugar and cream in a sauce pan over low heat just until combined and sugar is completely dissolved into the whipping cream. Do not let the mixture get hot enough to boil and stir constantly to prevent sugar from burning. When the flavors are combined they taste like caramel.

Let sauce cool and keep refrigerated if making ahead. Serve berries with sauce on the side.

    Thank you for this recipe. If there is one thing I love, it is berries! Can’t wait to try. Btw, I first fell in love with berries for breakfast when visiting Hawaii. Every morning we would wake up with fresh berries, cream and brown sugar! This is such a cool twist!
